The Sports Contractors Association (SCA) represents the most experienced, technically advanced sports surface builders and sporting equipment suppliers in Australia and New Zealand.
Our members are regulated by ensuring that they maintain strict professional, technical standards and are bound by a code of ethics. This ensures our members provide expert advice and budget estimates for sports projects.
Building a new tennis court or sports surface is a substantial investment which must be entrusted to an experienced contractor so it is imperative to ensure a quality, lasting result.
With the SCA this assurance is provided. SCA members have expertise in Tennis Courts, Hockey Fields, Bowling Greens, Athletic Tracks, Basketball, Netball, Soccer, Cricket, Baseball, Rugby and AFL Football, Skate Boarding, Sports Flood Lighting, Netting and all associated equipment.
Members operate under a Code of Ethics in an endeavor to ensure that at all times they will enhance the reputation of the SCA.
Members are expected to make all reasonable efforts to reveal all material facts to potential clients and will be guided by the policies of honesty and integrity in their words and deeds.
To encourage higher standards of construction and ethical behavior, the SCA operates a dispute resolution service. The aim of this service is to resolve disputes without the need for legal process. Complaints must be in writing. The SCA will then ask the member, who is the subject of the complaint, for comment.
If considered necessary the state chapter executive will appoint a minimum of one, but preferably two, suitably qualified members to inspect the site in question and to report to the chapter executive. The members appointed to carry out the inspection should attempt to mediate a settlement on site. If the SCA considers it appropriate, the member will be advised of any remedial works or other action considered necessary.
SCA members are known for their experience, professionalism and expertise in the field. Being part of the SCA is a mark of quality in the industry.
