Turf Queensland

ASSOCIATION PROFILE

Turf Queensland is the peak professional body for Turf Producers in the state of Queensland. Commenced in 2001, the Association has a full-time CEO and Secretariat. Turf Queensland has its own State government-backed turf industry apprenticeship and diploma programs.

The environmental landscape, especially clean water for our catchments and reef protection, has grown in importance over the years and as a responsible industry, Turf Queensland has developed its own state government-supported programs for nutrient and sediment movement and erosion control, on-farm turf cost calculator, accreditation, water use and energy assessments, and farm-based recommended improvements across the state.

MISSION STATEMENT

Turf Queensland achieves recognised peak-body status in the turf industry in Queensland by:

  • Being innovative
  • Having a well trained and accredited industry
  • Providing leadership in Turf environmental innovation
  • Developing acceptable useable standards
  • Providing leadership and direction
  • Developing industry benchmarks
  • Promoting growth and sustainability
  • Developing relationships with all stakeholders

ACCREDITATION AND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

Turf Queensland continues to lead the way in driving professional best practice outcomes through our 'Turf Accreditation Process' (TAP). TAP provides an independent third-party assessed program that creates leadership and innovative differentiation, as well as a valuable competitive advantage to those who have completed the program.

For specifiers, TAP offers security in knowing that utilisation of an accredited turf producer removes considerable risk for the end user. Members successfully achieving accreditation are then able to promote the achievement via use of the TAP logo. It is pleasing to note that the end user and regional councils are calling up current TAP accredited producers in their specifications.

MEMBER BENEFITS

Association Members are able to access various benefits including state and national services. By joining the state association, members are automatically a member of the national association and can access and obtain information and assistance from both organisations. Membership is separate to levy payment.
