Concrete Masonry Association of Australia Ltd (CMAA)
The Concrete Masonry Association of Australia (CMAA) supports the concrete masonry industry by providing technical information and advice to architects, engineers, specifiers and educators.
The CMAA and its members hold a clear vision – support and increase acceptance of the industry’s products and systems, working in partnership with CMAA members, regulatory bodies, educators and customers.
At a national level CMAA works closely with the clay industry to support and endorse the training organisation, the Australian Brick and Blocklaying Training Foundation (ABBTF).
Masonry Design courses for undergraduate and master’s students are developed by CMAA in association with the Queensland University of Technology and the University of Wollongong.
The Golden Trowel Award is one of CMAA’s key initiatives, run by the NSW Committee. This biennial two-day national blocklaying competition encourages excellence among apprentices while recognising the valuable skills of young people in a skill-shortage trade.
