BUILDING THE FUTURE OF ROADS AND INFRASTRUCTURE: HIGHWAYS AU RETURNS TO THE ICC SYDNEY

23 Sep 2025

Highways AU, Australia’s leading event for roads, transport and mobility, returns to Sydney this October. Held at the International Convention Centre from 15 & 16 October, the event will gather hundreds of professionals from across government and industry to explore the future of road infrastructure and transport systems. You can register your spot now for FREE!

With more than 150 sessions across five conference tracks, the 2025 program will focus on innovation, engineering excellence and long-term strategies to deliver safer, smarter and more sustainable networks.

ENGINEERING AT THE CORE

For engineers, contractors and asset managers, the construction and delivery track offers insights into how digital engineering, automation and smarter procurement are transforming the way infrastructure is designed and built. Sessions will also examine strategies to keep projects on track amid rising costs and demand.

Asset management remains a priority, with panels discussing new approaches to condition assessment, performance modelling and sustainable materials. Delegates will explore how to extend road life, reduce whole-of-life costs and design climate-resilient networks capable of withstanding flooding and other environmental challenges.

INNOVATION AND SAFETY

The Smart Traffic track will feature case studies on using smart technologies to improve traffic management and safety, including practical strategies for reducing road trauma. A feature keynote will highlight global innovation, including the world’s longest immersed tunnel, an engineering achievement demonstrating delivery at scale.

SUPPORTING COUNCILS AND COMMUNITIES

Local government sessions will share practical approaches to safer streets, greener cities and active transport. Parking infrastructure is also on the agenda, with a focus on how councils are adopting new technologies to optimise kerbside space, enhance traffic flow and improve economic activity.

BUILDING SUSTAINABLE NETWORKS

Sustainability runs throughout the program, with sessions on the circular economy, materials reuse and climate-smart design. These discussions provide practical guidance on embedding sustainability into everyday project delivery while reducing the carbon footprint of infrastructure.

WHY ATTEND?

Highways AU 2025 is the must-attend event for engineers, contractors, planners, and government decision-makers working across road and transport projects. It’s a chance to hear directly from peers delivering complex projects, connect with industry leaders, and gain practical insights that can be applied immediately.

Registrations are FREE! Join the conversation this October and be part of the event shaping the future of Australia’s road and transport networks. Click here to register
