The Play Works are at the forefront of play using natural materials and they are continually exploring new methods of combining the warmth of Australian Ironbark timber with the durability of man-made materials.

Traditional post and deck structures offer maximum amount of activities in a limited space, however this is often difficult to achieve in a cost-effective manner with size and surface variations in natural timber logs. The Play Works has minimised these issues by combining both ironbark and steel posts within the same structure, and combining them with flexible and durable activities made from rubber and plastics. The Ironbark logs lend their character to the structure, making for a unique signature look.

The Play Works also teams up with a number of artists and sculptors who can make each piece truly unique. Feature carvings or small exploratory accents specific to the local area can bring a playspace to life and add a real connection to the local community.

The Play Works manufactures to order in Brisbane and specialises in bespoke pieces. There are very few ideas they have not managed to bring to reality, so designers are encouraged to talk to their team to explore the possibilities.
