LITTLELIME: A UNIQUE, UNIFORM LOMANDRA

12 Mar 2020

Looking for a neat, easy-care plant to fit into your next project? Whether it be for roadsides, parks or rooftop gardens, LittleLime is the perfect fit for any urban landscaping plan.

Lomandra LittleLime is a unique Australian Native grass offering a perfectly cylindrical shape, brilliant lime green foliage, and surprising strength and durability. Because of these characteristics, LittleLime is an extremely versatile variety for use in the urban landscape.

Derived from the popular Lime Tuff, LittleLime offers the same vibrant green colour and hardiness that Lime Tuff is known and recognised for, but with finer foliage and a smaller more rounded habit.

Available from Greenhills Propagation, LittleLime is produced directly from tissue culture from Ramm Botanicals. Propagation via tissue culture results in more stable plants that are uniform in size, colour and shape, and also have a stronger DNA structure resulting in a higher survival rate. This production processed paired with LittleLimes genetics means your project is going to thrive right from the start.

You can utilise LittleLimes uniformity and low growing habit to create low-level borders in garden beds, and for government roadside applications where it won’t obstruct the view of traffic.  LittleLime can be planted among other landscape varieties where its vibrant green colour and shape will complement its neighbours and create levels of depth and interest in the garden. Plant alongside the larger, deeper green Lomandra ‘Verday’, the low growing ground cover Casuarina ‘Cousin It’, or the unique Xanthorrhoea Johnsonii Grass Tree.

This little tuft is male with the flowers forming close to the base that are not easy to detect. Because of this, LittleLime has little to no maintenance requirements as no deadheading is necessary. LittleLime will grow in full sun and shaded areas and retains its vibrant colour in any situation.

By staying lush all year round, LittleLime provides excellent contrast in large gardens, works well as an accent plant and is a variety you can rely on to thrive for years to come.

Height | 40-50cm
Width | 50-70cm
