As part of a new initiative, Real Insurance Group are partnering with The Great Outdoor Gym Company to launch a program to fund outdoor gym equipment for Councils across Australia, with the aim to improve long-term health for citizens.
As part of their Corporate Social Responsibility program the Real Insurance Group have launched a $1 million funding program to assist Councils in the procurement of fully installed outdoor gyms. The Great Outdoor Gym Company (TGO) is delighted to be partnering with Real Insurance in the delivery of this funding initiative.
Real Insurance was established to protect the quality of people’s lives across Australia, and as part of this ambition the company has committed to assisting communities across the country to have access to free outdoor gyms to ensure long-term health and vitality.
Over the coming months, Real Insurance is looking to partner with a number of Councils to encourage community fitness and outdoor exercise. The aim is to utilise existing green spaces within local communities and installing state-of-the-art outdoor gyms to get more Aussies active.
Aptly named realSpaces , the initiative aims to bring the community together through sport and fitness to support an active lifestyle for the community. According to the Australian Bureau of statistics, six out of ten Australian adults do not get enough exercise.
The proven benefits of regular exercise include boosting energy levels, improvement in fitness and cognitive performance, reducing stress and aiding long-term disease prevention. Outdoor exercise in particular has been proven to increase an overall sense of vitality, and a recent study has shown that those who exercised outdoors found it more enjoyable.
Through national and local media campaigns and ongoing social media support, Real Insurance will be announcing its partnership with key councils and their commitment to providing residents with safe, fun outdoor training zones.
Real Insurance will fund fifty percent (50%) of the supply and full installation of the realSpaces large and medium gyms. This enables Councils to obtain a fully installed ‘17 station outdoor gym’ - as featured in the accompanying images, recently installed for Logan City Council for $36,750 (excluding GST) - or a ‘10 station outdoor gym’ for $28,500 (excluding GST).
