This luxury inner-city complex achieves enviroDEVELOPMENT™ accreditation with the inclusion of verdant well-designed spaces by Boyds Bay Landscaping.

The Botanica Residences in South Brisbane is the ultimate in modern living. With an abundance of natural light and a range of communal areas, the Botanica is touted as offering luxury open spaces designed for enjoyment. It also holds the title of Australia’s largest multi-unit residential development to receive a Six Leaf sustainability rating from enviroDEVELOPMENT™.

enviroDEVELOPMENT™ is a scientifically based branding system designed to make it easier for purchasers to recognise and select environmentally sustainable homes. Certified under the Urban Development Institute of Australia’s (UDIA) sustainability rating system, the Botanica Residences achieved outstanding features in all six categories: ecosystems, waste, energy, materials, water and community. A range of sustainable landscaping choices by Boyds Bay Landscaping assisted the developers, ARIA Group, in achieving this incredible result.

Boyds Bay Landscaping was commissioned to create a series of green spaces in the luxury apartment complex that was in keeping with the developers aim to achieve environmental accreditation. Tasked with landscaping the street frontage, as well as the rooftop gardens, poolside timber deck and green features for the entryway, Boyds Bay created an inviting natural look for the inner-city apartment to meet the client’s brief. In addition, they installed an irrigation system for all hanging pots and garden areas within the complex to protect the soft landscaping, and included concrete works such as stairs and tactiles to the street front of the complex.

The rooftop garden and entertainment area utilised advanced tree stock and neighbouring planting to create a verdant Eden, while the timber deck surrounding the pool area was completed in Blackbutt hardwood to achieve a high-end finish that was both attractive and durable. And, bio-retention techniques were employed in the irritation system in order to achieve sustainability and ensure longevity.

The street-front gardens of the Botanica Residences required extensive navigation to accommodate the existing services beneath, including gas and communication lines. However the frontage was softened with the use of custom-designed hanging planters, which included their own irrigation systems.

The end result for the Botanica Residences landscaping is a lavish oasis with a relaxed and natural feel that cleverly disguises the environmental initiatives expertly put in place by Boyds Bay Landscaping.
