WSU BANKSTOWN
06 May 2025
Street + Garden were contracted to provide the outdoor furniture at the new WSU Bankstown campus. With sleek lines and a contrasting colour, the furniture works not only functionally but as a strong aesthetic point.

With a building design that reimagines traditional learning environments transforming education and the region, the base building harmoniously blends with the exquisite building design and fit-out by HDR. The distinctive block and stack architectural concept, coupled with multiple setbacks and rotations, gives the campus an instantly recognisable identity. The curtain wall façade, adorned with ten captivating shades of gold and red, culminates in an iconic landmark that proudly represents Bankstown.
The landscape was designed by Aspect Studios and includes a swathe of greenery that softens its urban location. The exterior furniture was provided by Street+Garden. Elements of Street+Gardens Flight and Drape Catalogue suites were selected by Aspect Studios to complement the building design while allowing for students to be able to escape outside to the soothing exterior spaces and gardens.
Street+Garden supplied the following furniture items from their Drape and Flight Catalogue Suites:
- Drape Table (w/ customisation to incorporate GPO's to charge devices)
- Drape Table (w/ customisation to include a Chess Board)
- Flight Backless Benches
- Flight Stools
- Flight Table Tennis Table
The Bankstown City campus is an integral part of Western Sydney University’s visionary ‘Western Growth’ strategy and is a perfect demonstration of how Street+Garden has been instrumental in co-creating landscaped open space in urban environments in conjunction with Landscape Architects. This strategy seeks to create a more prosperous and sustainable future, by attracting students and employees and enhancing the quality of life for those who utilise the spaces.
