VERSATILE AQUATIC PLANTS

14 Oct 2015

With the growing season well underway and many a spring overhaul happening in gardens across the country, Ascot Vale Garden Centre’s newest supply of aquatic plants are in huge demand.

A family run company for over 13 years, Ascot Vale Garden Centre is a major importer and distributor of quality landscaping products, including a huge range of plants, landscaping rocks, pots and planters, unique water features and more.

Perfect for any landscaping project that includes a pond or water feature, Ascot Vale Garden Centre’s new supply of water plants features a varied range of the beautiful and unusual.

If you already have a pond or water feature in your garden and wish to brighten it up with a new look, give it a makeover with a selection of variegated or flowering acquatic plants. Or, if you are developing a new commercial space, a mixed range of striking and unique water plants is sure to become the centrepiece of any design.

The qualified and knowledgeable staff onsite at Ascot Vale are willing and able to assist you in selecting just the right acquatic plants from their extensive range.

Why not try some of the following:

DWARF PAPYRUS (Cyperus isocladus)

A small, aquatic sedge that resembles its giant cousin, the Egyptian papyrus. Fine-textured, threadlike, terminal bracts and glossy, green umbels that grow to 2-3″ in diameter. The flowers are borne in noticeable brown spikes. A wonderful accent in small pools, ponds, pots, or tubs, and a stunning choice for fresh or dried arrangements. Pest and disease-free

GREEN GODDESS (Zantedeschia aethiopica)

The Green Goddess is an herbaceous perennial with large arrow-shaped dark green leaves and green spathes, white in the throat with yellow spadices. The Goddess is an ideal choice to add height to a water garden.

MINITURE CORKSCREW RUSH (Juncus decipiens)

Use this plant to create a natural looking bog habitat. The interestingly shaped stems are often clipped and used to add architectural flair to flower arrangements and center pieces. This dense Rush can also help control pond erosion

Ascot Vale Garden Centre is a one-stop shop for all your gardening needs. To view their extensive range visit www.ascotvalegardencentre.com.au
