STOCKLAND MASTERPLAN COMMUNITIES

27 Jan 2026

Street + Garden has partnered with Stockland on a number of its masterplan communities in Southeast Queensland. From the signage and street furniture of Aura on the Sunshine Coast, to custom-made installations in Yarrabilba, there's something here for everyone.

AURA CITY

Aura is emerging as a vibrant new community within the Sunshine Coast, where urban convenience meets a relaxed subtropical lifestyle. Street + Garden has been entrusted with shaping the public realm of this evolving precinct, working in close collaboration with CUSP and Stockland to deliver bespoke street furniture that elevates everyday experiences while defining the community’s unique character.

The approach for this stage centred on a cohesive suite of custom-designed elements, each articulated through a signature flowing perforated pattern – an abstraction of natural coastal rhythms, from drifting clouds to rolling waves.

The Aura City Backed Benches unite material richness and sculptural form: a two-tone GRC base grounds spotted gum slats with bullnose edges that echo the base’s contours, while powder coated aluminium backrests feature our bespoke perforation, creating generous, inviting places to pause and connect throughout the precinct. Complementing the benches are tapered bin enclosures, folded aluminium bike racks, and refined bollards – each element carrying the same carefully curated motif to establish a unified visual language throughout the precinct.

THE BROOK

For The Brook at Aura, Street + Garden collaborated closely with Urbis and Stockland to create a striking custom entry feature that establishes a strong sense of arrival and identity. The sculptural installation comprises flowing arrangements of folded steel blades that emerge from the landscape, their dynamic forms creating visual interest from every angle.

Each blade was carefully finished with a two-tone powder coat and folded in such a way that different colours reveal themselves depending on the viewer’s perspective. A considered gradient of colours was selected to introduce an added layer of visual complexity and depth to the feature, ensuring the installation reads as both cohesive and ever-changing as people move through the space.

Special consideration was given to materials and finish specification to ensure longevity, with durability and ease of maintenance paramount. Complementing the blades is a sculptural signage piece made from powder coated steel, folded and welded to spell out ‘The Brook’. This element reinforces placemaking, adds a vibrant pop to the precinct, and showcases the creative possibilities of sheet metal fabrication from the S+G design team.

BELHAVEN PARK, YARRABILBA

The Array Suite was originally developed for YarraBilba, another Stockland Masterplan community, as a cohesive family of street furniture, each piece crafted to complement the precinct’s contemporary architecture, strong visual identity and connection to the surrounding natural landscape. For the activation of Belhaven Park, RPS Group sought not only the existing catalogue pieces but also a new furniture element that would offer something distinctive for the community.

In response, Street + Garden designed the Array Swing: a backed bench suspended from a robust steel frame, allowing users to gently sway while enjoying the open parkland. Carrying the signature motifs of the Array Suite, the swing introduces a playful and relaxing feature while maintaining consistency with the broader furniture family. Installed alongside backed benches, backless benches, and tables, the collection brings a refined yet welcoming presence to the park.

This project provided Street + Garden with the opportunity to extend an established suite in a way that enhances both functionality and user experience. The introduction of the Array Swing allowed S+G to explore movement, comfort, and interaction while remaining true to the design language already established.
