SOCIALLY DISTANCED OUTDOOR SEATING FOR MACQUARIE UNIVERSITY

In late 2019, Stoddart Infrastructure installed a range of custom-made single and shared seating suites for Macquarie University. Stoddart worked with the head contractor, Lipman, to design a cost-effective suite of furniture for the Macquarie University Arts Precinct in Sydney.

For this project, the Stoddart Infrastructure team utilised the existing Town & Park City range to provide a customised collection of single and shared seating options.

The installation of the furniture suite was completed by Glascott Landscape & Civil, who also completed the landscape works. The install comprised of over 160 individual pieces of furniture, utilising FSC hardwood timber slats used with the Town & Park City range to complete the single and shared seating.

The single seats were originally designed as a seating variation for the project. As a result of recent events and societal changes, these single seats also allow students and staff to practice social distancing whilst enjoying the outside premises of Macquarie University.
