Shade That Tells a Story

Rainbow Shade made the Extreme 32 shade fabric the star of the show by applying an artistic print to the underside of the fabric.

Shade That Tells a Story

Rainbow Shade Extreme 32 shade fabric was selected for use in the recent park redevelopment in Yanchep Western Australia. These impressive shade sails took Quartz Extreme 32 shade fabric and applied an artistic print to the underneath side of the fabric. With up to 95.8 percent UVR block and high strength, Extreme 32 is the perfect choice for large shade sails at schools and council parks.

Shade That Tells a Story

For any park or playground shade is a vital piece of the puzzle. Not all playgrounds have ample natural shade, making shade sails a great addition. With shade sails being a custom solution, they are very versatile and can be placed in almost any space within the play area. A typical shade sail or shade structure will also provide far more square metres of shade when compared with trees or shrubs.

Shade That Tells a Story

In the case of this playground project the landscape architect chose to blend in the natural shade and surrounds with high protection shade sails. The artistic print on the underside of the fabric helped to bring the two elements together. A print on shade fabric such as this typically lasts between three to five years. Having the print on the underside of the fabric allows the print to be shielded from UV rays and will help the design to last even longer in the elements.

Shade sails at playgrounds help to provide much needed Ultraviolet protection year-round to children and parents. Playground shade sails offer a duel benefit of cooling the play space down and reducing the risk of potential skin damage.

Shade That Tells a Story

Extreme 32 shade fabric was specifically chosen by the landscape architect for this installation due to its superior colour fastness and dimensional stability. These unique sails could be the start of a series of projects where arts meets functionality.
