The construction of the Broken Hill Solar Farm, one of Australia’s biggest solar projects, was proudly supplied by Mawsons Concrete & Quarries in support of a more sustainable Australia.
Launched into action in 2016, the Broken Hills Solar Plant produces enough electricity to meet the needs of approximately 17,000 average New South Wales homes on an annual basis. The solar plant will reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by over 105,840 tonnes of CO2 equivalent per annum - roughly equivalent to removing approximately 29,000 cars from the road. Particulate and heavy metal emissions will also be reduced.

During construction of the solar farm, Mawsons’ Broken Hill quarry supplied in excess of 19,000 tonnes of 150mm spalls for the project. The concrete for the project was supplied by Mawsons’ Broken Hill concrete plant.
