PROMOTE YOUR EVENT FOR PARKS WEEK

17 Feb 2016

Let the world know what’s happening in your park, sports ground or wide open space this March. Register it with Parks Week and let them promote your event.

Promoting parks requires a joint effort, with communities, parks bodies and government working together. That's why Parks and Leisure Australia and the New Zealand Recreation Association have teamed up to help councils, organisations and communities on both sides of the Tasman present Parks Week from 5 – 13 March 2016.

What events or activities are happening in your urban parks, sportsgrounds or wide open spaces between 5-13 March? Let us help you promote your Parks Week event so we can help provide a strong voice for these places and spaces. CLICK HERE to promote your event.

Many organisations from both sides of the Tasman are already flying the Parks Week banner, with 35 events already on board. But to present an even stronger message about the value parks provide, we need you to add the activities you have on during Parks Week to our website. Our target is 100 activities minimum.

PARKS WEEK AMBASSADORS

Parks Week ambassadors David Bond and Costa Georgiadis will be supporting events across Australia and New Zealand.

Award-winning filmmaker David Bond will be in New Zealand to support Parks Week events. David will be speaking at a range of events, from screenings of his film to workshops with councils and government agencies, and will be holding in-person interviews in the cities where he will be attending Parks Week events.

Gardening Australia’s Costa Georgiadis will be making appearances at events across Australia. As a landscape architect who has an all-consuming passion for plants and people, Costa believes in embracing and celebrating mother nature's cycles and seasons and nurturing her balance, beauty and bounty organically.

If you’re interested in joining other Associations as a Parks Week partner visit www.parks-week.org/partners to find out how.

Parks Week includes family experiences, moonlight markets, food festivals and yoga dance parties at dawn. There is a feast of great events flying the Parks Week banner on both sides of the Tasman. Check out the full range of parks week events HERE
