PLAYABLE INSTALLATIONS ALONG THE SEA SHORE
25 May 2023
Hoping to encourage social interaction through movement and play, The Urban Conga recently installed two innovatively designed public installations to Bay Park in Sarasota, Florida.
Inspired by the coral reefs along the coastline, The Urban Conga has unveiled its latest installations that will allow visitors to partake in playful activities. Giving the appearance of marine objects that have been washed ashore, the two installations will inspire visitors to either have a seat and swing by the sea or participate in spontaneous jam sessions.
Portal, is a curved, social bench that frames the ocean scenery and allows users to have a swinging good time together. Holding up to four to five users at a time, Portal encourages users to interact with one another while enjoying the sea views. Constructed from eco-friendly materials, the bench is made from sustainably-sourced Kebony wood while the green structure is made from recyclable stainless steel, Portal is an inviting and creative piece of outdoor furniture.
Drum Coral consists of a collection of tuned drums that can be played by all. Accessible to all ages and abilities, the funky drum set allows visitors to play together. Featuring teal blue tentacles that support the drum unit, this musical structure can be played either sitting or standing. Made from recyclable aluminum and eco-friendly powder coating, the Drum Coral is a fun and appealing installation that many will enjoy.
