The package includes a scope of works such as exposed aggregate pavements, castlemaine stone dry walling to station buildings and retaining walls, castlemaine slate paving, bluestone paving, a public activity space with tiered retaining wall seating, soft landscaping, and planting works.

The project utilised locally sourced quarry products and reusable materials from the existing station including brickwork and reclaimed railway track, as well as a sunken garden bed installation. By incorporating the heritage roots of Lilydale, the station incorporates contemporary features with reusable vintage pieces of the old station.

Ace Landscapes worked closely with subcontractors Westgate Framework and Image Stone Constructions for concrete retaining walls and stone masonry on the project. Working collaboratively to provide dimensions and work with the project drawings, Ace Landscapes is most proud of delivering the largest volume of hardscape works to a rail occupation project to date.

With more than 2,000 metres square of exposed aggregate pavement, 160lm of stone clad retaining walls, 200 metre square of building cladding and more than 700 metre square of bluestone paving to the entire project.

The final phase of Lilydale station commences May 2022 with Ace at the forefront of the hardscaping and softscaping on the project.
