MAINTAIN THE GREEN

11 Nov 2015

Synthetic lawns are the perfect solution to landscape design dilemmas. Easy to maintain and suited to a range of applications, synthetic grass is the ‘tuff’ choice for any project.

Tuff Turf, Australia’s largest distributor of synthetic grass, provides a range of durable products suitable for residential and commercial projects, from homes to businesses, kindergartens to schools, childcare centres and even sporting clubs.

The major benefits of synthetic lawns lie in their durability and low maintenance qualities. Little is needed in the way of maintenance to keep an artificial lawn looking spectacular for many years.

Reduced maintenance makes the choice of a synthetic lawn even more affordable, saving time, water and the cost of landscaping services. Easy to install, DIY synthetic grass also reduces the overall cost of a landscape design, making it a great option for clients and a winning contract for designers.

Tuff Turf ensures clients understand how to get the best out of their artificial lawns with helpful maintenance advice and ongoing customer support.

Helpful tips include:

  • Don’t let organic matter (fallen leaves etc) build up on the lawn as this may cause weeds to grow and affect drainage. Use a brush or grass rake to sweep lawns clear when needed.
  • Tuff Turf is resistant to stains, but staining still can happen. Remove stains as quickly as possible. Detergent and water will remove common stains, though some stains need grease spot removers or mineral spirits. After cleaning the stain simply rinse the turf with warm water to get rid of any residue.
  • Using a special herbicide or weed killer annually helps keep synthetic lawns glowing. While there is no need for continual mowing, fertilising and weeding, using treatments once a year will prevent weeds from growing on the surface.
  • Artificial lawns can look and feel like real grass to pets, however the easy to cleanse surfaces of Tuff Turf products mean it’s not a problem for pet owners. Simply wash the area with soap and water, then rinse off afterwards. There are even special deodorisers that can be used to keep lawns smelling spring fresh.

Tuff Turf synthetic lawns come with a 7 year turf warranty, adding peace of mind to the benefits of durability and low maintenance. The full range of products is available from Tuff Turf direct, with selected products also available from Bunnings Warehouses throughout Australia and New Zealand.
