KENNEDY BAY JETTY APPROVED
23 Oct 2025
As part of the development of the new Kennedy Bay precinct, a 140-metre long jetty has received council approval. The public jetty will be the crown jewel in the coastal community development.
Eight metres across at its widest point and stretching 140m from the foreshore into the bay, at its highest point the jetty will be 4.5m above water, and will feature lower platforms projecting off each side for easy access to boats and other water activities.
The jetty will be placed on existing underlying bedrock and will include a series of shelters, seating areas, interpretive and educational signage and various boat mooring locations. The jetty will service an existing and new community proposed for this precinct. The jetty’s approval is the latest stage of Place Development’s $425-million masterplanned community.
“The $7-million plus community asset will support boating, swimming, and fishing activities that integrate with the broader development plans for the Kennedy Bay village and leisure precinct,” wrote Place Development on social media following the announcement.
The Kennedy Bay development includes the construction of a small village community, with plans including foreshore amenities, bike paths and pedestrian-friendly walkways, coupled with The Nest Adventure Playground and newly opened Long Point Park, encourages an active lifestyle right on the beach.
Construction on the jetty is anticipated to begin at the start of 2026.
