IN THE MIX

Blending the simplicity of an outdoor fire pit with classic luxury, EcoSmart Fires’ MIX Fire Bowls will be the centre of attention at every gathering.

Blending the simplicity of an outdoor fire pit with classic luxury, EcoSmart Fires’ MIX Fire Bowls will be the centre of attention at every gathering.

Invented by award-winning industrial designer Marc Veenendaal for courtyards, patios, pool decks and terraces, the all-weather, earthy design delivers the ambience of an open fire minus the mess, odour, sparks and soot.

“The MIX Fire Bowl generates a lively orange flame that dishes out generous amounts of warmth and ambience, which can be enjoyed equally in an alfresco setting or contemporary outdoor room,” Veenendaal explains.

“Their circular concept evokes the much-loved tradition of bringing people together around an open fire on a starry night,” he adds. “Both highly functional and elegant, MIX Fire Bowls can be easily switched on or off and relocated wherever ambience, heat and the light of a fire is needed.”

There are two different-sized MIX Fire Bowls – the 4.1kg 650 and 4.4kg 800 mode ls – both of which are sturdily constructed from hardwearing, weather-resistant concrete. The freestanding fires are available in two hues – Natural Concrete and Dark Grey Concrete.

“It’s a perfect combination – the earthy elements of fire and stone,” says Veenendaal.

Bioethanol, the environmentally friendly, clean burning and renewable energy source fuel each MIX Fire Bowl. Fitted with EcoSmart’s AB3 and AB8 round burners, the MIX Fire Bowls provide up to 8 hours’ usage. And, depending on the effect required, materials such as gravel or pebbles can be placed into the space surrounding the burners.

“The MIX Fire Bowls can be placed on a pool deck or patio, or positioned in an open space to enhance the atmosphere and create a distinctive design feature,” Veenendaal says. “The combination of the simple, elegant shape and flickering flame will instantly vamp up any architectural environment.”
