Futurewood has a new range of castellated cladding in the colours Midnight, Walnut and Weathered Stone designed for use on a privacy fence as well as for general purpose cladding. The 265mm cladding has a unique undercut design to accentuate the slat faces of the cladding.
Supplied in 5400mm long lengths the cladding is perfect for an 1800mm high privacy fence as 3 x 1800mm planks can be cut from one long length with no waste.
The castellated cladding has a flat coarse sanded finish on the back of the cladding so that it looks good from either side when used as fencing and the fence system includes a 25mm top cover strip that caps off the top of the fence.
An aluminium black powder coated fence frame consisting of a 65mm square post and a specially designed 51mm aluminium fencing rail are fixed together using a solid stainless-steel bracket and stainless-steel screws.
For those wanting a screen fence, the new aluminium fence framing is perfect for use with Futurewood’s range of timber screening battens that can be supplied for a concealed fix using push in composite timber plugs.
This deck is finished with the latest CleverDeck Xtreme colour called Driftwood; this composite timber decking is manufactured with an outer layer or cap made of a virgin polymer blend that allows the use of vibrant colour hues with subtle streaking combined with a subtle grain pattern to create a stunning timber like decking “look”. The CleverDeck Xtreme range boasts seven designer colours from light greys to black and traditional timber tones. The boards are available in either a 138mm or 185mm-wide boards with a scalloped back to improve heat flow, making the boards both cooler and lighter. They are BAL-29 rated and supplied with a grooved edge profile allowing a concealed fix using the Futurewood deck clip system. The hard outer shell offers greater scratch resistance, is virtually waterproof and is easy to clean.
This deck design called for an installation that was close to the ground on a Futurewood aluminium deck subframe using 50mm joists and adjustable pedestals.
The powder coated aluminium joists and bearers are corrosion resistant, moisture proof and will not rot providing a long life, hassle free subframe that will stand the test of time. They offer spans of up to 1800mm.
Working with long, light weight and perfectly straight aluminium joists and bearers makes for an easier build. This theme continues with the use of innovative quick fix clips and brackets and a specially designed top plate that means the joists literally snap in place on the pedestal, no screws required, just a simple “click”!
The entire system has been expertly planned to fit together easily with less screws, saving time and money and creating a level and stable surface to fix your decking to from heights as low as 48mm and up to 523mm.
