HydraWise is an Australian-designed smart irrigation controller that automaticallly adjusts watering and offers substantial cost savings.
HydraWise is an Australian-designed smart irrigation controller which automatically adjusts watering times using internet-based weather stations. This allows for water savings when it rains and extra watering in hot conditions.
HydraWise recently conducted a study into the water and cost savings that customers could expect from a HydraWise irrigation controller.
“Customers can expect substantial water savings using the controller,” says HydraWise founder, Cameron Ryan. “Our research shows that the controller would have saved customers over 50% of total water usage based on temperatures and rainfall in Melbourne over the last year. The savings are similar for Sydney users.”
All HydraWise controller settings are fully configurable using a web browser or smart phone. “Customers no longer need to go onsite to change or suspend irrigation schedules. From the comfort of your office or home you can view watering reports or manually start or suspend irrigation zones,” says Cameron. “Configuration is also simple. There’s no software to install – just use your web browser from anywhere.”
The key to the irrigation controller system is its ability to adjust watering based on local weather conditions. The system has access to over 33,000 weather stations worldwide which means that there is bound to be one close to your controller’s location. “Avoiding having to install a local weather station saves installation time,” says Cameron. “The great thing is that because the system has access to so many internet-based stations you can still automatically adjust watering based on your local internet-based weather stations”.
Although the controller can be used in residential installations, HydraWise has provided many commercial features to suit customers such as landscape management companies, schools, councils, universities and landscape designers. It is easy to manage multiple controllers from the same account and it supports multiple logins per account – making it simple for teams to manage their systems.
Each HydraWise controller supports 8 zones and includes WiFi for an internet connection. The controller is small so it is easy to stack multiple controllers in situations where more zones are required and configure them from one web account.
Pricing for the controller is just $395 with 3 different website subscription plans ranging from $0 to $10 per month.
Customers can do a free trial at the HydraWise website. You can do everything that you could if you had a HydraWise irrigation controller in your backyard (except for the actual watering bit of course).
HydraWise is an Australian-designed product for Australian conditions and is the proud winner of the Outdoor Design Source New Product Award at the Landscape Australia Expo 2011.
