With services covering landscape design, construction and maintenance for all forms of outdoor environments including domestic, commercial, and urban developments, Fleming’s Landscapes now includes the hospitality sector in that portfolio following the recent design and construction of the Home Hotel beer garden.
A well-known and much-loved pub of Launching Place in the Yarra Ranges, the Home Hotel is undergoing a transformation which includes updating and completely redesigning the hotels famous beer garden to something far more approachable and contemporary.
The iconic pub has been closed for some years now and with new owners on board it is set for a fresh lease on life.
Located on the Warburton Highway and conveniently on the highly visited Warburton Trail, the Home Hotel has been much missed and with Fleming’s design team, Flow Design Studio, the outdoor areas are now set for a busy summer. 
Taking on the neglected site and all its quirks was not without its challenges including working around underground tanks, removing and clearing much of the existing landscape, retaining walls, consolidating various levels throughout, a tight budget and working around an intense renovation schedule and builders - just to name a few.
The new beer garden now includes a much better flow to the site, an outdoor bar area, a flexible space that can open up to the rear lane to allow for larger groups, functions and live entertainment, more functional open spaces to relax and enjoy as well as a renovated and improved undercover area ideal to watch a footy match or cricket game with a cheeky beverage or two! 
Attracting a wide range of clientele from the local region, walkers, cyclists, trail riders, from the trail and day-trippers from across Victoria, the hotel is set to enjoy a new era of hospitality with a view to better planned outdoor entertaining areas.
The pub offers bike racks for cyclists and also includes an area for horse-riders to easily exit the trail and rest their equestrian friends in a safe, stabled area, and enjoy a relaxing break. 
Fleming’s have harnessed their expertise in horticulture to complete the outdoor beer garden with the inclusion of its nurseries’ new ornamental pear called Pyrus calleryana x pyrifolia ‘Javelin’ as well as ornamental olive trees, beautiful new range of evergreen shrubs known as Distylium myricoides x racemosum 'Vintage Jade', and a collection of super advanced trees to ensure shade comes sooner than later.
The beer garden is just the first of future outdoor renovations planned for the Home Hotel which will all occur in good time as the pub flourishes with new life once it opens later this year.
