GRAFTED AUSTRALIAN NATIVES

02 Apr 2014

Botanix is producing grafted Australian native trees suitable for street plantings and commercial/residential landscape use.

Botanix Plant Supply is a specialist grower of a large range of grafted corymbia's, eucalypts and brachychitons from the Graftmasters™ and Ozbreed range. These trees are hand grafted onto specially selected rootstocks which limits mature size, guarantees flower colour and form and enables planting in a wide range of conditions.

These selections include:

Corymbia citriodora ‘Scentuous’
Over the years Corymbia citriodora ‘Scentuous’ has become an ever reliable favourite, retaining attributes of seed grown trees including fine lemon-scented foliage and smooth white bark. ‘Scentuous’ however, has a compact and uniform growth habit making it suitable for street plantings.

Corymbia ficifolia forms
Botanix Plant Supply has various grafted forms of Corymbia ficifolia, with several flower colours available. One example is Corymbia ficifolia ‘Snowflake’ with white flowers and a dense crown of foliage. It makes an excellent small specimen tree for the domestic landscape or within a street planting where consistent results are required.

Eucalyptus cladocalyx 'EUC78' Vintage Red™
With unique burgundy foliage ‘Vintage Red™’ makes a stunning addition to the landscape. A medium to tall tree, it is best suited to larger gardens or in commercial landscape settings. It produces attractive dark red stems, which then age and peel off to reveal a smooth grey bark.

Eucalyptus leucoxylon rosea 'Scarlet'
Eucalyptus leucoxylon rosea 'Scarlet' is a select form of E. leucoxylon rosea with deep scarlet flowers appearing from April to October. ‘Scarlet’ has a uniform habit; being grafted takes away the issue of foliage variation that often can be a problem with seed grown forms.
