FLEMING’S SINGS A NEW SONG

This is the case with the new urban development – Woodsong, located in Melbourne’s burgeoning western growth corridor.

Developer, HB Land, engaged Fleming’s very talented design team, Flow Design Studio, to create a landscape that is unique, beautiful, sensory and fun.

Ensuring a spectacular first impression was the aim of the game, and the brief for this beautiful garden was, in short, "a flourishing natural plant scape with undefined lines and little to no uniformity".

The brief was embraced by the Flow team who created, aptly, a flowing design that included swathes of native plants, a nature play area for children to enjoy, seating nooks and a visually engaging design. The team also added topography and interest to the flat site by incorporating mounds, totem poles and a striking sculptural element.

The sculpture, created by Melbourne Company, Lump Sculpture, is a highlight of the design which is softened by the volume of planting.

Of course, with sister company, Fleming’s Nurseries supplying plants, trees were always going to be a highlight of the design, and included a wonderful pallet of advanced trees. These included four super-sized Xanthorrhoea glauca, alongside two new natives, Eucalyptus robusta ‘Matong’ and Corymbia maculata ‘Gamai’, which are very exciting releases Fleming’s have championed for their uniformity and quality.

The project was constructed and is maintained by Fleming’s Landscapes, ensuring this beautiful sales office continues to sing no matter the season.
