From its early days as a haulage contractor back in 1966, Benedict has grown into one of New South Wales’ largest producers and resellers of quarried, recycled and landscape products whilst fast becoming the industry leaders in recycling and resource recovery. As the team celebrates their Diamond Jubilee, they are also stepping into a new chapter. Following the recent acquisition of parts of Benedict Recycling Pty Ltd by Igneo Infrastructure Partners (IWS), the rest of its group – Benedict Sand & Gravel, Benedict Industries, Benedict Recycling Newcastle and Bowral Waste Centre – remains proudly family owned.  

A LEGACY BUILT ON SCALE, RELIABILITY AND INNOVATION

Over the past six decades, Benedict has built one of the most extensive resource networks in NSW. With quarries at Appin, Cowra, Menangle, Mittagong and Sandy Point, and more than 50 million tonnes in reserves, it supplies the sands, soils, aggregates and recycled materials that keep projects moving.

The Newcastle Recycling facility, operating since 2016, along with the Bowral Waste Centre, strengthens its footprint across the state handling large-scale recycling for construction, demolition and industrial waste streams. Newcastle is currently achieving a resource recovery rate of 89% and Bowral Waste Centre is diverting 75% of its waste from landfill.
