WillPlay’s recent installation at South Head Parklands in Burnett Heads, Queensland, has been a great addition to this coastal community. Featuring three different play areas to suit all ages, this space includes shade sails and tables spread throughout the park area for locals and visitors alike.

Bundaberg Regional Council chose WillPlay to design this remarkable space as part of the council’s Parks and Open Spaces Strategy and Capital Works Program, a joint initiative with the Queensland Government.

Working around an existing collection of WillPlay equipment, this area was designed for children of all ages and abilities. Featuring bright colours of blue and green to suit the coastal theme and stunning backdrop of the coral sea, this playspace merges into the scenery seamlessly.

The playspace at the northern end caters to pre-school age children and sits on a Takura and rubber surface with an array of systems to play on. From exploring and climbing on the play hut, scoot along to the play fort, make music on the Row Row Row Your Boat chime panel, climb up and slide down from the crow’s nest, young imaginations will thrive on the little train. On the fairytale ship, the seas will drive your journey and adventures. Head over to the swing area where the Plus 1 swing set that caters to parents joining in on the fun, while others enjoy the basket or single swing.

The senior space, for the older children, resides in the middle and also sits on a Takura and rubber surface. This area includes a custom Goliath Tower with tube slides, climbing nets and vertical climbing access on all fronts. The four-metre swings to the side are the perfect spot for kids to gain new heights or for those parents who like a relaxing swing while watching their children climb up the amazing six-metre tower.

The junior space accommodates primary aged children and sits on a sand and rubber surface. This area has a crab-themed fairytale playground with slides, bridges and junior access for the little ones. There is also an all-abilities spinner and a spinning orb for those who like the dizzying thrill of going around and around.

All equipment supplied and installed by WillPlay is manufactured in Australia and features extensive use of premium materials, including aluminium structural posts, stainless steel framework and Australian sourced recycled plastics. With the addition of stainless steel fasteners, the entire WillPlay range meets the criteria for coastal use.
