Shadeform recently installed five Shaderunner^® systems for the exciting new 2KW Bar & Restaurant development in Adelaide. 2KW Bar & Restaurant occupies an enviable position on the ninth floor of a prime office complex on King William Street in the city’s centre. Views from the rooftop bar are incredible, with vistas of Adelaide Oval and the parklands on offer for patrons of this popular venue. To be able to make full use of the rooftop area for patrons, the architect specified the Shaderunner^® retractable system to provide convenient and dependable shading over a series of five outdoor seating areas.

The Shaderunner^® system provides much-needed shade and respite from the intense Australian sun, enabling outdoor areas to be utilised even during the hottest days. With sun-safety always a consideration in Australia, the extendable Shaderunner^® provides practical UV protection and thermal comfort as needed. During the cooler months, the ability to retract the Shaderunner^® means natural light and solar warming can be utilised more appropriately to keep outdoor areas fully usable year-round.

The versatile design of the Shaderunner^® retractable sail system stems from the Designer’s background in the sailing industry. High-end yacht fittings, marine-grade stainless steel components and highly durable shade and waterproof fabrics provide the ultimate in dependable shading.
