Since its beginning in 1843, the story of Collins Street Baptist Church, the oldest Baptist church in Victoria, has been entwined with the story of Melbourne. Located partway between the historic Town Hall and State Parliament, the church sits at Melbourne’s cultural, political and spiritual heart.
For close to a decade, Collins Street Baptist has hosted the Verandah Café on the steps of the historic church building. As well as serving great coffee, the Verandah offers a place of welcome, rest and conversation, and a greenspace in the heart of Melbourne. 
Three Glowpear Café Planters and six Urban Gardens were specified to create a tranquil city garden with a mix of edible and decorative plants. There are plans to use these culinary plants for the wider church food programs in the future.
