BOTTLE TREE INSPIRED OUTDOOR FURNITURE

Working in collaboration with Vee Design for Western Downs Regional Council, Street+Garden designed and supplied a cohesive range of products for the CBD site including benches, bin enclosures, bollards, stools, circular tables and curvilinear seating.

A key consideration of the brief was to make a subtle reference to the Bottle Tree which is an integral element of the area’s identity.

To achieve this, the steel frames of each product were designed to reflect the bulbous shape of the plant, giving it a curvy and attractive look. Then each product was finished with an earthy bronze powdercoat to complement the Spotted Gum timber tops.

Furthering the organic nature of the design, each piece of hardwood was CNC machined with a curve that repeats across the length of the furniture. The opportunity to combine hardwearing, durable materials with a soft and delicate aesthetic was applied to the entirety of the custom furniture suite. The end result is a range of products that add visual interest to a beautifully designed area and will continue to do so for years to come.
