With parks and playgrounds being more important than ever, Brimbank City Council have committed to transforming their parks and creating attractive, safe and sustainable neighbourhoods, which support community wellbeing and strong connections between neighbours. The team at Blade Recreation, in conjunction with strategic partner WillPlay, liaised with the Council’s Landscape Architects to select these custom pieces for the revamped play area at McKechnie Street, St Albans.

WillPlay is a 100% Australian family owned business, with manufacturing based out of Bundaberg, Queensland. They design and manufacture playground and outdoor fitness equipment for use in parks, schools, hospitality and other commercial sectors. With a vision to operate in a sustainable and responsible way, WillPlay embrace the principle of sustainable development, meeting the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. All products are designed and manufactured using recycled and recyclable materials, so not only are the products environmentally friendly – they are designed to last.

The star of the latest installation at McKechnie Street is WillPlay’s Play Park unit. The Play Park range incorporates elements designed to challenge kids in many ways. Featuring recycled HDPE and powder-coated aluminium alongside stainless steel components, Play Park offers superior value in any public area or school. Custom options are available to suit any size play area.

Complementing the Play Park is the 4 x4 Car Rocker. The Rocker features purpose-built play springs, giving years of fun and safe play in any location. The colourful and fun design make this as appealing as they are durable. Again, made from recycled HDPE panels, these can be customised to suit any play area theme.

The final element is the Boxie Orb. Designed to go over, under, around and through. This climbing orb is available in 12 colour variations and gives kids unlimited climbing options while offering a visually appealing element in every play area. More than a piece of play equipment, this is almost a piece of art. Manufactured from a combination of powder coated stainless steel and aluminium, it features European made rope, 100 percent recycled HDPE and UV stable plastic panels.
