AILA NATIONAL AWARD NOMINEES ANNOUNCED
20 Aug 2025
The Australian Institute of Landscape Architects (AILA) has announced the contenders for this year’s national awards. The list of nominees was compiled from winning designs honoured at this year’s state awards, celebrating the very best of landscape architecture.
Eligible projects are now vying for national awards across a range of categories. This year, Victorian projects lead the tally board — with the state competing for more than 30 gongs. Over the border, and not far behind, Queensland and New South Wales each racked up nominations for more than 25 awards.
ASPECT Studios, Hassell Studio, Tract, REALMstudios and TCL, as well as City Councils, are among the most frequently nominated designers this year.
National Jury Chair Kate Luckraft describes the nominees as championing the very best of landscape architecture. “The diversity of this year’s designs illustrate how landscape architects are leading transformative projects — from creeks and beaches, to train stations, universities and parklands — it’s an incredible line up of outstanding projects,” she said.
“To be privileged with critiquing these designs is to witness, firsthand, the power of landscape architecture to enliven and enrich our natural and built environments,” Kate said. “The legacy of these awards will, of course, be the positive contributions made to communities, lands and waterways around the country.”
Winners will be awarded on 21 October.
