A Sweet Rejuvenation

Adelaide's famous Marshmallow Park has recently undergone a colossal $20 million rejuvenation, featuring new public greenspaces completed with state-of-the-art shelters by Landmark Products, making it an even bigger drawcard for a community that loves the great outdoors.

A Sweet Rejuvenation

Pityarilla Park, more commonly known as Marshmallow Park, is bigger and better than before with the implementation of new activities and spaces for families to enjoy. From a tennis court and basketball court for older kids and adults, to a fully-fenced interactive nature playspace, dog parks, BBQs and more, this new park offers something for everyone.

Eight Peninsula Park Shelters were supplied by Landmark Products (through distributor RWA products) in three separate locations within the park. These shelters are vital for the space, providing shade for adults and kids alike from the hot Australian sun. Two 5x5-metre shelters were implemented by the playspace while another four were installed in the two dog parks. One was installed by the tennis court and one more in the park greenspace.

Each shelter features a picnic setting and several of the also include a park BBQ for friends and family to gather around in typical Australian fashion.

Each shelter is secured with inground pine posts, finished with standard stain and delivered in kit form, flat-packed for convenience and ease of installation.

Deputy Premier John Rau said the ongoing rejuvenation project of the parks is all about transforming one of the city’s key assets into a modern and welcoming park.

“The revitalised Marshmallow Park will inspire a great sense of community and demonstrate the enormous potential of our unique parklands, ensuring our parklands are developed in a way that meets the recreational and lifestyle needs of a growing population," Mr Rau said.

Adelaide’s Lord Mayor Martin Haese said the park upgrade had been identified as a priority by Adelaide Park Lands Authority and envisaged it to be well-used by the community.

“There’s truly something for everyone — from nature play, to improved paths, to community courts for those wanting to be active,” Mr Haese said. “There’s a dog park, barbecues and shelters where people can get together and socialise, and a plaza with space for a pop-up cafe or kiosk for those wanting to relax and enjoy the park.”
