Joseph Banks Native Plant Reserve is a beautiful nature retreat in Kareela, south of Sydney.  It has been developed by Sutherland Shire Council to give visitors the opportunity to walk, picnic and relax in a naturally stunning bushland setting. 

Stoddart Town & Park worked with landscape architects, Phillips Marler to provide a range of furniture to compliment the bush setting of the native plant reserve. As specialists in the design and production of a suite of attractive, robust and functional street furniture in Australia, all of the company's street furniture is designed with a wide range of Australian people in mind.

For this particular brief, custom seating was installed on the new sandstone walls, while a variety of seats, benches and table settings from Town & Park’s Metro range were utilised for the remainder of the project.

Custom engineered solutions were also required to install a portion of the furniture to the new decking. For this purpose, the design team manufactured custom leg bases to distribute the weight load across several deck planks.

In addition to the furniture present, Joseph Banks Native Plant Reserve now features a DDA-compliant, wheelchair-accessible BBQ, also supplied through Stoddart Town & Park.
