Concept Design:
Tasked with refurbishing the existing pond, H2O created a striking sculpture.
Tall and sleek, this feature was designed to bring presence to the area, act as a centrepiece and be seen from all angles in the foyer. Its' curved shaped is subtly highlighted by the natural light filtering through the above skylight.
We chose to finish the feature in a stainless steel metalcote, adding a unique shine and sparkle to the feature.
Water flowing from the sculptures bubbler is caught in a custom designed water table below. This perched base increases the height of the feature whilst providing a subtle cascade of water over the custom designed negative edge and into the existing pond.
Manufacturing and Installation:
Measuring at 2.5metres in height and 1.5metres in width this sculpture was manufactured from LICOM76™. The supporting water table includes a negative edge completely round the 2.2m diameter.
Manufacturing with LICOM76™ allowed for the features to be set up and fabricated off site site in our melbourne Factory. This included all the necessary hydraulics, waterproofing and finishing. The features were then delivered to Pyrmont, where we completed the minimal on site installation.
