Richter Playspace Arrives in Tasmania

The long-awaited Richter playspace in Tasmania has officially opened! Filled with innovative designs and natural materials, the playground is open to the public and ready to be explored.

Situated alongside Tasmania’s beautiful Mersey River, the unique urban playspace brings together the new Waterfront Precinct with an aim to opening the CBD to the river.

The focal point of the playspace is the nine-metre-tall Spielgrate Pyramid Tower and the complex designed climbing structure. These two centre pieces allow children of all ages to explore the playspace and be challenged, all while having fun. The semi-contained playground overlooking the river is a perfect perch for family and friends to enjoy a day out.image2

The Urbania from Richter Spielgerate playspace is one section of the growing Living City Parkland. Smartly situated away from the hustle and bustle of the city streets but close enough for families to stop by the park and continue their big day out in the city. Both visually and physically drawing the attention of pedestrians, the playspace is an eye catching innovative architectural structure that many will stop to look at.

There are three promenades extending from the CBD to the river’s edge. Including the endemic Tasmanian plantings, amphitheatre, water and mist features, events common and now the Spielgerate playspace. All connected by pathways and walkways, the parkland is an amazing public space for the community to enjoy and explore the great outdoors.image3
