As Dubai evolved so did Sheikh Zayed Road, transforming into a wide, trafficked space that split the city in half. Machou Architects Group's design will sink the road underground and transform the underused space on the top into 25kms of urban agricultural land and public spaces. The company hopes that this project will create a catalyst for public spaces to drive social development and generate economic value and sustainable growth. 
80 percent of the park’s land will be dedicated to agricultural growth in various indoor climate-controlled environmental and open-air date palm tree farms. As the park is located in the centre of the city, it will provide a significant portion of the city’s grown foods and will aim to reduce the carbon emissions that occur due to the transportation and storing of produce. The rest of the park will be dedicated to community leisure. 
“We aim to create a blueprint for an environmentally sustainable park that embraces local materials and vegetation,” said the architects. “This will support building a native ecosystem of plants, birds, insects and cross-pollinating bees.” 
Aptly named Super Park, the completed zone will offer accessible pedestrian greenspace with a surface area of approximately 700 football fields. The length and scale of the park will connect unused areas of the city, increasing their appeal and retail value as they overlook the spectacular eco valley. Machou Architects Group believes that this will contribute to greater social interaction and will generate a healthier community and a stabilised food market. 
The project will be constructed in seven portions, spanning 4kms between the major interchanges along the highway. The underground tunnel will emerge above ground at each intersection, connecting to the crossing bridges. This allows for the narrower areas of the park to continue uninterrupted beneath the intersection.
“Dubai Super Park [will] stitch the urban fabric [of Dubai] back together to reunite the segregated flow of people, nature, and energy,” concluded the architects.
