WATERPROOFING TO THE MAX

Scientific Waterproofing Products recently supplied and installed a flexible, fully submersible waterproofing membrane to a newly constructed above ground swimming pool fabricated from shotcrete. The product of choice for this pool project was Drizoro Maxseal Flex M, a flexible cement based waterproofing coating that has the ability to withstand 11 bar (110m) positive and 5 bar (50m) negative hydrostatic pressure. The coating is only to be applied to a wet concrete or masonry substrate.

Maxseal Flex M is a Class II waterproofing membrane that has 100 percent elongation, UV stability, drinking water safety and is certified against AS 4654.1:2012 – Waterproofing membrane systems for exterior use.

During the process of waterproofing the above ground pool, a first coat was brush applied to the wet substrate, followed by a second coat again brush applied after a minimum of six hours to 24 hours later. Over the course of three days, the Maxseal Flex M was allowed to cure before a second coat was applied.
