Waterproofed Walls a Success

Using the Maxseal flex and the Maxplug, Scientific Waterproofing Products (SWP) were able to successfully waterproof walls within a studio.

Waterproofed Walls a Success

In order to progress a renovation of the studio within a home in Birchgrove, NSW, Patrick Dolan of Pattern Construction Co commissioned Scientific Waterproofing Products to waterproof walls against negative hydrostatic pressure with active ground water leaks (running water). This task was further complicated by the fact that the walls comprised of several different substrates including sandstone-bedrock, clay brickwork previously painted, concrete and cement repairs.

The successful waterproofing process was to

  1. ignore the active leaks initially
  2. Saturate all substrates with water, and immediately brush apply two coats of Maxseal Flex – (white in this instance), to the wet substrate.
  3. Allow a curing period of seven days, and thereafter plug the remaining active leaks using Maxplug, wetting, and recoating that Maxplug with one more coat of Maxseal flex.
