SUGAR GUM TIMBER A SWEET ALTERNATIVE

12 Jul 2018

Timber is a highly unique material with a multitude of applications as a foundational material or an accent trim. Eco Timber's sugar gum series is not only attractive and durable but comes with a unique history, ensuring its more than just a 'piece of wood'.

Eco Timber Group offers a wide range of recycled and sustainable timber products and species across the Australian hardwood range. The team place great pride in delivering exceptional quality with a unique point of difference. This has helped their clients understand the beauty of timber and how it can be used in a wide variety of applications, beyond what they commonly see.

Eco Timber is a fully vertically integrated organisation that controls the supply, manufacturing, sale and delivery of their products. Having complete control at every level ensures that the team are able to be agile, dynamic and responsive to the market and customer needs.

Included in this amazing timber range is Eco Timber’s flagship sustainable species sugar gum, or eucalyptus cladocalyx.

Eco Timber Group is a fully certified and accredited FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) suppier and this plantation grown, native Australian hardwood, falls under that accreditation. Sugar gum is a dense, Class One durability (ideal for the outdoors) species that provides a blonde to mid-tanned tone. It is attractive and durable, with a great look and unique past.

The Eco Timber Group Just Eco® Series FSC Sugar Gum, has a particularly interesting history of farm use from carpentry to decorative furniture making, firewood and fencing. It was introduced as a plantation timber by returned service men who used sugar gum as a windbreak to assist in maintaining crops.

It is, therefore, more than fitting that today we use it as a suitable hardwood timber for a multitude of applications. These include decking, cladding, posts, beams, flooring and any other building requirements where strength and durability are a must.

Sugar gum has the capacity to produce high value sawn timber and is notably listed as one of the most outstanding species of the four native hardwood species grown in the western districts of Victoria.

Eco Timber Group Just Eco® Series FSC Sugar Gum products are available to order now.
