Minimalist pillars from CastStone were used to transform this 1950’s home into a modern space ideal for entertainment, while still maintaining a sense of privacy.
CastStone’s modern masonry pillars have completely transformed the front of this house, providing it with the much-needed renovation it deserved.
Built in the 1950’s, this house has been renovated throughout from a humble home to an outstanding entertaining space. To continue with the entertainment concept, a stylish fence reflective of the theme of the house was sought after. This also created a need to retain privacy by enclosing the front yard, leaving the driveway free with the fence extending down to the home front created a private court yard. Before the renovation the home had a quaint and tired picket fence. It was decided the CastStone minimalist pillar range would create the structure, privacy and modern look the client was after.
As the garden was landscaped with a hedge lining both sides of the path direct to the front door, a pedestrian access gate was required. To balance the street scape, five 340mmx340mm CastStone Minimalist pillars were installed across the front with a low wall between to frame the space. On the other side of the drive there is a gas meter, which provided no room for a pillar. A pillar size and height of 1500mm was chosen to accent the character windows.
A customised laser cut address plate was designed to give street presence and identity to this home. In keeping with the façade of the house, the pillars were painted a crisp white while the slat infill matched the monument accents on the house.
The change from the old picket fence to the elegant CastStone minimalist pillars is striking. Filled with long-life aluminium slats and a low plinth wall that frames the home, the pillars have added structure to the space where before there was none. A welcoming pedestrian access gate with a customised CastStone brushed stainless address plate completes the renovation.
CastStone have traditional and modern pillars in many sizes that will suit new builds, renovations and a simple smarten up of the front garden.
