Do you have waste issues? DSTORM® is a stormwater improvement system designed to protect waterways from stormwater pollution by retaining gross pollution, sediments and oils.
Suitable for a range of applications, the DSTORM® Gross Pollutant Trap (GPT) from Durham can be installed into new developments or retrofitted to existing drainage systems. Its modular construction means it can be configured to treat very high flows, with a generous sump storage volume – taking the pressure off maintenance costs – and is construction- and maintenance-friendly.
DSTORM incorporates Smooth Bar Technology (SBT); built-in durable stainless steel that allows pollutants to slide off between storm events, restoring treatable flows. SBT technology is superior to direct screens, which clog prematurely.
Applications for DSTORM® include roads, carparks, substations and stormwater harvesting for commercial, residential, industrial and local government projects.

Durham has extensive credentials in the stormwater industry. They have been providing quality stormwater and drainage products and services to the civil and construction industry for over 50 years. Proven stormwater treatment technologies with practical and serviceable design are incorporated into their quality product range.
Even after 50 years, Durham continues to maintain strong and enduring relationships with their clients and the civil, utilities and construction industries. They understand the importance of research and development, and work tirelessly to continually test, validate and improve their product range.
Working in collaboration with the University of New South Wales (UNSW) Water Research Laboratory, Durham will be undertaking ongoing research and development of all of their stormwater products and technologies in preparation for assessment under the Stormwater Quality Improvement Device Evaluation Protocol (SQIDEP).
WAR ON WASTE
Managing stormwater pollution is a dirty business that requires many hands to wage a campaign against waste. Durham’s stormwater products are specifically designed to simplify monitoring, cleaning and maintenance for operators. The DSTORM® system simplifies access to all areas of the GPT to improve monitoring and cleaning, as well as eliminate obstacles to maintenance. Their goal is 3-minute monitoring of all zones kerb-side and minimal cleaning time.
Waste management is not just about pollution transported through efficient drainage systems, it is also about assets becoming redundant due to lack of cleaning and maintenance. To prevent this, Durham keeps track of the delivery location of every DSTORM® system, to share with cleaning operators and facility managers. Durham also encourages the recycling of water, plastics, sediment and organic matter collected from gross pollutant traps.
Pollution transported in stormwater has been identified as the greatest threat to waterways and ocean environments. Stormwater pollution is a threat to the habitats and existence of many of our planet’s lifeforms, from the smallest to the largest. If left unchecked, this threat will continue to destroy the eco systems that support life.
Durham, in collaboration with Stormwater Australia, aims to provide leadership and advocacy for the industry, with the ultimate goal of protecting the environment – starting with the DSTORM® Gross Pollutant Trap.
