SOUTH AUSTRALIA CELEBRATES BEST LANDSCAPES
25 Jun 2025
Sanctuary Adelaide Zoo hosted the Australian Institute of Landscape Architects (AILA) South Australia Awards on Friday 20 June. Over 20 projects competed for awards across categories spanning civic landscape, health and education, parks and open space, gardens and more.

Landscape architecture brings nature into the heart of daily life, shaping parks, open spaces, wetlands, streets and public places that invite us to gather, connect, and belong. Well-designed landscapes strengthen local economies by attracting visitors and creating jobs, but their deeper value lies in cooling our cities, restoring ecosystems, supporting well-being, and caring for Country.
The 2025 AILA South Australia Awards celebrate the projects and practitioners reimagining how we live with landscape and each other.
AILA SA Jury Chair Warwick Keates led this year’s panel of jurors. “What emerges clearly from this year’s awards is a profession that is a champion of the environment, people, culture and place,” Keates said. “We continue to demonstrate that landscape architects are respectful, inclusive and incredibly innovative.”
All winners of an AILA SA Award will now proceed to the National Landscape Architecture Awards, to be announced in October in Hobart.
