Parallel 42 is a modular wood bench system that’s so much more than a simple bench. The four pieces provide elegant building blocks for creating social gatherings and interaction. Right hand, left hand, straight and wedge modules form simple or complex configurations simply by installing them butted together. Distribute them individually, cluster them, line them up or branch them out, the choice is yours.
Parallel 42 provides stylish seating, defines borders of pathways, access points and gardens, and frames your space.
Designed in the USA by Brian Revoir and manufactured under license locally in Sydney, the Parallel 42 epitomises the creative collaboration process available today with 21st-century technology and is the outcome of botton + gardiner’s (b+g) partnership with global brand Landscape Forms.
Design features include the varied-width hardwood battens, the elegantly chamfered slats and the pops of bright colour in the frame that act as structural support and create visual engagement.
Available in a range of UV-oiled hardwood species, this item can also be customised to suit your specifications, both in finish and length or angle. B+g recently custom-made these benches in their low-maintenance Duraslat™ wood plastic composite battens. This greatly reduces ongoing upkeep of benches in public spaces by eliminating the need to maintain an oiling regime while still giving a look and texture similar to hardwood.
B+g can also powdercoat to your specifications. A bright UV-stable lime green powdercoat was used on the Parallel 42 bench frames to match the large planters installed next to the benches in this project below.
100 percent Australian manufacturing opens up great opportunities. Get in touch with b+g to discuss your next project via the links below.
