As with most inner-city suburbs, Alexandria locals are typically passionate about city living, and The Hudson residents are no different. This includes being environmentally friendly, so when it came time to replace the rotting timber pool deck a composite timber deck and aluminium subframe was the perfect choice.

Futurewood worked extensively with SJR Constructions regarding the design of the subframe to achieve the most cost-effective outcome that included incorporating the existing brick pile foundations of the deck in the new structure. Using rudimentary measurements from the site, Futurewood was able to provide SJR with a reliable quote for the cost of the complete aluminium subframe and the decking. Futurewood’s expertise allowed for a design with a minimum amount of waste that met all the structural requirements along with a detailed CAD drawing for SJR to follow.

Further complications on the site included the weight restrictions on the driveway as it formed part of the car park roof. This meant that the delivery vehicle had limited access and required the packs of material to be moved by forklift to the pool site. With limited storage on site the deliveries were also staged to suit SJR’s building schedule. The project went smoothly and SJR and The Hudson are extremely happy with the finished product.
