Wood Plastic Composite boardwalks from Advanced Plastic Recycling (APR) are manufactured in Australia from recycled and reclaimed materials, are non-permeable and designed to meet your specific requirements. Able to withstand the harsh elements, they will not rust, rot or leach chemicals into the environment and provide a great alternative to timber.

Advanced Plastic Recycling’s ecocomp range of WPC products are ideal for large-scale projects, such as the boardwalk project undertaken in Port Wakefield on the York Peninsula in South Australia.

Port Wakefield District Council asked APR to custom manufacture and supply their WPC products for the entire project, which included a 72-metre-long boardwalk leading to a 6x3m 2-seat viewing platform.

APR provided a fully integrated design to meet council requirements, including all posts and rail, bearers, joists and decking, which were supplied to ensure the project met the highest level for design and construction.

The project was completed in one stage: one-level walkway leading to viewing platform.

COMMUNITY PURPOSE

Walk along boardwalks through mangrove forests and view the abundant bird life, or take a dip in the local swimming area. Boardwalks and bird identification signs provide an insight into the environment.
