R+T AUSTRALIA

06 Aug 2014

From simple shading to sophisticated climate control systems, R+T Australia has it all – don’t miss it!

Shade to provide sun protection is one of the oldest “climate control” systems used by humanity; sophisticated automated control solutions are among the newest. And at R+T Australia 2014, the latest developments in automated sun and climate protection will bring these two together in a showcase of integrated energy efficient building systems.

R+T Australia will be held at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre from August 21-23.

Protection from hot summer sun – and maximising winter sun exposure – are the “first lines of defence” in designing, constructing, and even renovating today’s energy efficient buildings, says Exhibition Manager Thurain Aye.

“As the country’s first-ever exhibition specialising in external building systems, such as roller shutters, doors/gates, windows, and sun protection systems, R+T Australia provides architects, specifiers, designers, builders and owners with a “one-stop shop” for the latest industry developments,” he says.

“Australians are faced with hotter summers and spiralling energy costs, and they are looking for solutions that allow them to better manage their cooling and heating requirements in a sustainable way.

“At R+T Australia, we will be seeing some innovative systems for providing sun and climate protection depending on the needs of the seasons, while helping keep energy costs under control,” says Thurain.

“And these solutions need not only apply to new building constructions. Many of the systems on display at the exhibition are equally suitable for existing homes, offices and commercial buildings, with the ability to be easily and affordably retrofitted.

“In fact, renovations are forecast to be a driving force in the residential building sector over the next five to 10 years – and many home owners will be looking to incorporate solutions that make their homes not only more comfortable, but also cheaper to run.”

Thurain says that exhibitors at R+T Australia 2014 will cover the whole gamut of sun and climate protection systems, from simple manually operated shutters and blinds, through to highly automated systems that automatically open, shut and adjust themselves depending on such factors as sunlight, ambient temperatures and even wind strength.

“In addition to being able to see these latest developments, visitors to R+T Australia can also take advantage of our free ExpeR+T Area presentations over the two days on August 21 and 22, and which include one of Europe’s leading specialists on sun shading systems, and their integration with air conditioning,” he said.
