Yarra Shade was called in to offer a solution to a Melbourne café that had 70sqm of outdoor entertaining space that was unusable in inclement weather. The café knew they were losing money every winter when it was too cold or wet to comfortably sit outside. They were looking for a product that would enclose the space and provide shelter, but have the ability to be opened up on clear sunny days.
The perfect option was Yarra Shade’s high quality and functional retractable roofing system. Designed to protect from the fierce glare of the sun, wind or rain, they can be customised to suit any need. The system chosen is engineered with European motorisation and a fully powder-coated aluminium frame, available in any colour. The canopy was comprised of Ferrari Soltis 502 fabric, which has great UV properties as well as superior stabilisers in the fabric.
Structural support was needed to fit the roofing system, which required engineering, building permits and planning permit permission – all of which, as registered builders, was handled by Yarra Shade.
As the images and the videos below show, this awning offers fantastic protection from the changing elements, as needed. Protection from rain, and on those wonderfully warm and sunny days the roof retracts, offering a stunning outdoor area to be enjoyed by patrons under any conditions.
