RESET FESTIVAL RETURNS TO FEDERATION SQUARE
30 Jul 2025
A month-long festival will take over Federation Square with free events celebrating biodiversity, nature and sustainability. RESET festival brings together interactive workshops, immersive experiences and community connection opportunities across Melbourne’s cultural heart.
To celebrate the arrival of spring, a fun-filled festival will take over Federation Square in September, with free family-friendly events that celebrate the natural world and how to better look after it.
The festival aims to encourage sustainable living practices while providing engaging entertainment for all ages, from young children to seniors. The program is full of activations, markets, activities, film screenings, talks and workshops, all focused on minimising negative impacts on the environment and increasing positive impact.
The festival opens with Nocturnal Worlds, a sound installation transforming Fed Square’s Atrium into an immersive sonic environment featuring Australia’s nocturnal creatures. A major highlight includes the Planting Party on 7 September, featuring morning tree planting at nine Melbourne locations through Landcare Victoria partnerships. Artist Sangeeta Sandrasegar presents a significant textile installation titled I ragazzi dei millefiori: the flow’rs of song and story, created in partnership with the Australian Tapestry Workshop.
Favourites returning this year are the Zero Waste Festival and the Big Toy Swap, focused on helping people reduce waste in practical ways, and community days of connection and grassroots action, for World Cleanup Day and World Rivers Day.
Learn all about how to reduce, reuse, recycle and repair at this festival to take care of our precious planet.
