REAL FLAME BRINGS LIGHT TO QUEENSTOWN
31 May 2018
Eichardt’s Hotel, in New Zealand’s picturesque Queenstown, recently undertook a significant expansion that included a new penthouse suite featuring two stunning Real Flame gas fires that bring warmth and ambiance to the balcony.
Eichardt’s Hotel has a long and distinguished history, dating back to the 1860s when the gold rush was in full swing. William Rees built a homestead on the lakefront and erected a woolshed on the site, which is now home to the hotel. Originally named the Queen’s Arms, the hotel was a bustling business filled with the gold prospectors from the area.
Albert Eichardt entered into a partnership with Rees in early 1866 and Eichardt would go on to be the sole proprietor by 1869. Eichardt renamed the hotel Eichardt’s Private Hotel and began primarily catering for tourists. Eichardt’s is a famous landmark in the area now and is listed as a category 2 historic building by the Historic Places Trust.
As part of the expansion in 2016, the rooftop level was transformed into a beautiful penthouse suite. Real Flame supplied two stylish 400x800 Pit Fires for the outdoor balcony space, allowing for visitors to relax with a glass of wine by the romantic, warm flicker of the flames as they enjoy the spectacular lakeside views.
The Pit Fire series offers the designer absolute flexibility when designing an outdoor space as they can be installed into a limitless array of options and finishes.
The fires are able to run on NG or LPG with three distinct shapes options (rectangle, square or round) and a number of different ignition systems to cater for different applications. The media is also flexible with glass, driftwood (NG ONLY) river pebbles or scoria all available.
